About Inquisiminds
A learning community for curious minds
Inquisiminds is a secular and safe environment where K-12 students can participate in a variety of academic and enrichment classes to further their educational needs. At Inquisiminds, children may attend one class or several classes centered around their interests and goals. We strive to offer the core classes as well as the fun stuff! The director works collaboratively to ensure quality programming in an open and friendly environment and strives to make the center as flexible, relevant, and welcoming as possible to both parents and children. Although we hold our classes at a church, we are a secular enrichment center that does not teach religion or have it woven into any classes. We are open to all religions and races and enthusiastically welcome all diverse backgrounds.
Our Director
Hello! Welcome to Inquisiminds. My name is Liesel Golden and I am the Founder and Director of Inquisiminds. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Systems Management. After serving over 23 years in the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineering Officer and another 5 years as a civil servant, I retired as a Colonel and started homeschooling my twins.
As a homeschooling parent, I struggled to find secular, affordable, and high-quality classes in an inclusive environment for my children who faced learning differences. To meet this need, I founded Inquisiminds in February 2018, with our first classes launching that summer. Over the past six years, we’ve grown to serve over 150 students each year, offering an Academy program for elementary learners, as well as various clubs and social events.
My twins have since gradauted from homeschooling and are now juniors at Shenandoah University (Nursing) and the University of Delaware (Energy and Environmental Policy). I am so proud of them!
As of March 2025, Inquisiminds officially transitioned from a private company to a Nonprofit Organization in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We remain committed to providing a secular, inclusive learning environment for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
